Hourly Rate: $30.00

Position Summary:
A millwright is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, dismantling, and troubleshooting of machinery, including compactors and electrical panels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation

   • Assemble and install machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
   • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals to determine machine specifications.
   • Align and level machinery and ensure proper placement.

2. Maintenance and Repairs

   • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure efficient operation.
   • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
   • Repair or replace defective parts such as gears, bearings, or shafts.

3. Dismantling and Moving Equipment

   • Disassemble machinery for relocation or repair.
   • Safely transport machinery using hoists, cranes, forklifts, or other equipment.

4. Testing and Inspection

   • Test and verify the operation of newly installed or repaired machinery.
   • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

5. Safety and Compliance

   • Follow workplace safety regulations and procedures.
   • Ensure equipment complies with relevant safety standards and codes.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with hand tools, welding, rigging equipment, and precision instruments.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in demanding environments.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
