Mobile Diesel Technician
Staffmax is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician for a leading transportation and fleet maintenance client in Laval, Quebec.

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shift: Afternoon Shift
Base Pay: $31.00–$37.00/hour (based on experience)
Afternoon Shift Premium: $3.00/hour
Mobile Technician Premium: $2.00/hour
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Position Summary
As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will travel to customer locations to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This is a field-based position that requires a self-motivated technician who can work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, PTO systems, steering, suspension, and brake systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, air brake, and electronic control systems.
- Repair and replace major components, including turbochargers, injectors, cooling systems, and driveline components.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair ABS brake systems and suspension components.
- Perform vehicle inspections and road tests to verify repairs.
- Complete repair orders and warranty documentation accurately.
- Identify and order required replacement parts while maintaining inventory.
- Prepare equipment for delivery and perform mechanical reconditioning when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized mobile work environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during service visits.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License or equivalent certification.
- SAAQ certification (or eligibility to obtain it) is required.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, and electronic diagnostics.
- Experience using diagnostic software and shop equipment.
- Valid driver's licence with air brake endorsement (or willingness to obtain where applicable).
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills for documenting repairs and maintenance.
- Willingness to travel locally to customer locations.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights when required.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
