Pay: $32.00–$40.00/hour + Night Shift Premium, based on experience

Position Overview

Staffmax is hiring a Licensed Trailer Technician – Red Seal/Journeyman Certified for a full-time position in Delta, British Columbia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive trailer maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs in a professional shop environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and efficient repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trailer systems and components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, suspension, landing gear, frame, air/hydraulic, and reefer systems.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and hand tools to accurately identify and resolve faults.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Test and validate completed repairs to ensure equipment is operating safely and properly.
• Document repair details, maintenance activities, and parts used.
• Track parts and repair information using maintenance tablets.
• Review technical manuals and manufacturer specifications as required.
• Stay current with emerging fleet technologies and updated repair procedures.
• Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Red Seal endorsement as a Licensed Trailer Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician, or Truck and Transport Technician.
• Journeyman certification in a related trade.
• Proven hands-on experience in trailer service, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Structural trailer systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Brake systems
  • Suspension systems
  • Landing gear
  • Air and hydraulic systems
  • Reefer/refrigeration systems
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong safety awareness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 85 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits

• $32.00–$40.00/hour, based on experience.
