Description:

Staffmax Staffing and Recruiting is currently assisting our client in Winnipeg with an Operations Manager for their metal fabrication and automation company.

Your role will consist of guiding and supporting individual departments, their managers/supervisors and employees, working with Head Office on strategic planning activities ensuring a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Ensuring planning, scheduling, organization and to ensure successful project completion
  • Assisting project crew is successful through coaching, training, skills development and team building
  • Ensure detailed job descriptions and KPIs are updated and actual

Working with Stakeholders to manage project budgets

  • Hold department accountable for defined project timelines and budgets
  • Ensuring company transparency and communication
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and concerns in a timely fashion
  • Development of product standardizations through collaboration with Engineering and customer requirements, ensuring consistency on all projects and quality is in high standards
  • Participate as a key member of the strategic task force for future planning on products and entry into new sectors
  • Liaison with R&D Manager for new product develop aligned with the strategic vision of the company
  • Drive technology and automation activities where possible within organization to improve design and manufacturing

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Solidworks 3D modeling and AutoCAD 2D. Inventor 3D an asset.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma preferred
  • 1-3 years of Supervisory experience required
  • Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment and work independently on various design projects
  • Able to problem solve and use critical thinking in fast-paced environment
  • Able to maintain professionalism when dealing with clients
  • Able to communicate completed designs effectively
  • Intermediate usage of Microsoft Office
  • Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturing techniques
  • Working knowledge of automated equipment
  • Comprehensive understanding of metal fabricating equipment and processes
  • Continuous Improvement techniques
  • Strong leadership skills and conflict resolution an asset
  • ERP or MRP systems experience
