Pay and Benefits:
- $100,000 - 190,000 or higher dependent on years of related experience
- RRSP -5% of prev. years up to max of $5200

Job Summary:
- The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the manufacturing division to achieve budgeted financial objectives. This includes overseeing production, research and development, engineering, quality, maintenance, marketing/sales, human resources, purchasing, finance, IT, and logistics.
- The Operations Manager will lead a team of managers and collaborate with various departments to meet plant budget and production goals, quality requirements, cost targets, and delivery schedules while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- The Operations Manager will also be responsible for implementing Lean Manufacturing practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- The Operations Manager is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of the manufacturing division and achieving the company's financial objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, manufacturing experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Current employee is retiring but still actively able to train until June
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
• Manage activities of Production Control Manager, Production Planning Coordinators, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and Safety/Plant Maintenance Manager.
• Develop and implement long-term plans and initiatives to achieve company goals efficiently.
• Meet plant budget and production goals, quality requirements, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
• Establish and execute production schedules.
• Monitor daily operational schedules for accuracy and ensure operational goals are met.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing practices, including a new 5S Guide, and create a training system for plant employees to ensure proper job performance.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure staffing requirements are met and support salary and wage administration.
• Develop and implement strategies to motivate and engage employees.
• Collaborate with Safety Manager to ensure safety requirements are met.
• Collaborate with Quality Manager to ensure quality standards are met.
• Communicate new product production plans to Production Supervisor and participate in their implementation.
• Adhere to the approved operations annual budget and provide budget updates and adjustments as requested.
• Ensure product quality and drive continuous improvements.
• Propose and execute capital purchases for production equipment and vehicle fleet.
• Support marketing in costing and pricing of products.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including co-chairing the Workplace Health and Safety committee.
• Participate in quarterly Employee Committee meetings to address plant issues and labor relations.
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
• Background in agricultural/automotive equipment manufacturing is an asset.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ten or more years in operations management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and motivating staff.
• Comfortable working in a multicultural and diverse environment.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, intelligent, and confident individual.
• Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Focus on quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
