Our client, a well-established boutique civil litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Partner to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity for an established lawyer to step into a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with strong support and an efficient, low-overhead structure.
About the Firm:
The firm maintains a broad civil litigation practice, including:
- Insurance litigation
- Construction disputes
- Professional liability
- Shareholder and commercial disputes
- Self-regulatory and administrative law
The firm owns and operates its own office space, allowing for significantly lower overhead and a more competitive compensation structure for partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a full caseload of litigation files from intake through resolution
- Represent clients in court, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations
- Provide strategic legal advice across a range of civil litigation matters
- Contribute to business development and growth of the practice
- Mentor and support junior lawyers as needed
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Manitoba
- Established litigation lawyer (typically 7+ years’ call)
- Strong track record managing files independently and delivering results
- Partial or full portable book of business considered an asset
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in contributing to firm growth
