Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is assisting our clients to hire an experienced Payroll Coordinator for their Markham, ON Head Office.  The individual in this hybrid (2 days in the office and 3 days at home) position will play a key role in helping to create a better food experience for everyone. 

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Coordinator will provide operational support to the payroll team in the administering of bi-weekly Canadian and weekly US payrolls for both salaried and hourly employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payrolls for approximately 1300 salaried and hourly employees including new hires, terminations, vacation, and other payroll changes.

  • Communicate with field operations to address and resolve labour hours, employee inquiries and maintain the accuracy of all payroll cost centres.

  • Generate and distribute monthly and ad-hoc payroll reports including labour hours, vacation, labour budget, etc.

  • Provide support and training to the field on the payroll and time attendance systems.

  • Work with Human Resources (People Operations) to maintain employee files and ensure compliance with all company policies and employment legislations

  • Ad hoc requests to support the management and delivery of all payroll programs

  • Act as back-up for other team members

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in payroll, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years payroll experience and/or a related discipline with PCP designation an asset.

  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now payroll and time & attendance system an asset.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, with demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel and reports.

  • Must demonstrate good judgment, strict confidentiality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Customer service oriented with the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team; possesses a solution-oriented and positive attitude.

 Salary: $60,000/year + Benefits
