We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for running payroll in all our North American markets.

Position Summary

The Payroll Administrator's duties include the management of employee data, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages, and ensuring internal and temporary employees are paid correctly and on time. The Payroll Administrator works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Payroll & Finance, Payroll Manager, and the Recruitment Consultants to ensure timely pay and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters
  • Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets
  • Ensure accuracy in hours reported by temporary staff and/or clients
  • Submitting payroll runs across Canada and the US
  • Generating reports after all runs have been submitted
  • Maintaining payroll-related employee records
  • Coordinating with the Recruiters to ensure correct employee data
  • Entering injury reports through the payroll system for WCB claims and following up as required
  • Work with clients, workers, and internal staff to solve billing issues such as bill rates, pay rates, incorrect invoicing, and updating billing contacts
  • Provide reports to clients as requested
  • Assist with the preliminary follow-up on overdue Accounts Receivables, passing problematic accounts over to the Vice President as required
  • Administrative duties such as filing for the department as needed

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma with a concentration in Payroll
  • Some payroll experience preferred, data entry experience required
  • Experience doing payroll with over 200 employees a strong asset
  • Experience processing interprovincial, USA, or global payroll an asset
  • Strong knowledge and background in payroll-related employment and labour law
  • Agency-related payroll experience an asset

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively
