About the Role

We are currently seeking an Underwriting Operational Support Specialist I – Personal Lines to join our team in Winnipeg. In this role, you will provide underwriting and claims support for Personal Lines Property & Casualty operations across Canada. Working with minimal supervision, you will contribute to operational excellence by processing broker requests, supporting business initiatives, and ensuring service-level targets are met.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting support for Personal Lines insurance products by processing broker requests and policy transactions.
  • Respond to inquiries and communicate decisions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and procedures.
  • Support internal business partners with evolving operational needs.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives, system enhancements, incident management, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and system-related issues.
  • Meet productivity and service-level targets while managing multiple priorities.
  • Participate in team meetings, cross-functional discussions, and collaborative projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and company updates.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work performed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience.
  • Experience in Personal Lines insurance is preferred.
  • CIP designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Bilingual English/French is considered an asset.
