We are currently recruiting for a Licensed Tank Installer to join our team in Atlantic Canada. This position offers flexibility regarding your home base, whether you are in PEI, Nova Scotia, or New Brunswick.
As a Licensed Tank Installer, you will be responsible for assisting with tank and piping installation and removal projects (above or underground) throughout Atlantic Canada.
The successful candidate must possess a license or certification from at least one province. Candidates not holding a license will not be considered at this time.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist with tank and piping installation and removal projects (above or underground) throughout Atlantic Canada.
- Perform improvements at gas stations, including but not limited to concrete repairs, upgrades to tank pads, and repairs to islands, such as replacing manhole grade rings and spill containers.
- Install, maintain, and repair petroleum equipment.
- Utilize construction tools like quick-cut saws, jackhammers with air compressors, towing trailers, and adhering to road safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Managers and Construction Leads to plan and execute site repairs and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and certification requirements for storage tanks containing petroleum and allied petroleum products, as outlined by Environment and Climate Change Canada.
- Provide leading-edge customer service and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
Qualifications:
Suitable candidates will meet the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum High School education
- Licensed tank installer (see acceptable licenses here: Certified people for the installation of storage tank systems for petroleum products and allied petroleum products - Canada.ca
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Willingness to travel, work on-call, and perform overtime.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to take direction well, work independently, and safely
- Competent in using construction tools and operating equipment
- Ability to handle physically demanding work, including long shifts and extra hours
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 60 lbs
