Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with our clients, the leaders in the plastic recycling industry, to hire a Plant Manager for their Scarborough, Ontario area, Plant.
Reporting to the CFO & Vice President, the Plant Manager will be responsible for plant operation and maintenance. Establish plant policies and procedures, set plant production goals, maintain communication across all shifts. Promote a highly respectful and motivating work environment and culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Mechanical Technologist or Engineering background is preferred
- Experience in a plant and/or manufacturing environment (experience in a plastic or recycling industry is an asset)

3-5 years of experience in a management role with Plant Management responsibilities, in a plastic/recycling or manufacturing setting.

Excellent customer service skills – dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers

Excellent leadership skills - must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback
- Posses a commitment to and willingness to devote great effort and time in order to reach goals
- Ability to make decision in a timely manner, sometimes under tight deadlines and pressure
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Responsibilities:
- To optimize, implement, and successfully manage daily production efficiency while meeting cost objectives and maintain profitability goals
- Implement written processes and procedures manuals to ensure efficient and effective flow of material and traffic through the plant
- Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe plant.
- Establish and direct plant policies and procedures.
- Responsible for plant production goals.
- Establish and maintain a positive team relationship.
- Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
- Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing,
- production, and shipping.
- Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules.
- Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff.
- Conduct employee performance reviews.
- Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
- Responsible for the product quality control for the plant.
- Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
