Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour to start, increasing to $20.00/hour after successful completion of the 3-month probation period
Benefits: Company benefits available after probation
Shifts:
- Morning: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
About the Opportunity
Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is currently hiring Plastic Extrusion Machine Operators for one of our valued clients in Winnipeg.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with an established manufacturing company offering hands-on training, long-term employment, career growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
Candidates with manufacturing, machine operating, production, or mechanical experience are encouraged to apply. Previous plastic extrusion experience is considered a strong asset, but training will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor plastic extrusion machines to manufacture quality plastic products.
- Complete machine setups and change dies during production changeovers.
- Monitor production processes and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to perform product measurements and quality checks.
- Make minor machine adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting as required.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure continuous and efficient production.
- Follow production schedules, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate production records.
- Report equipment issues, product defects, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs as required.
- Perform other production and machine operating duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operating experience is preferred.
- Plastic extrusion experience is a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and troubleshoot basic machine issues.
- Experience using calipers or other measuring tools is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work morning, evening, or night shifts as required.
