Job Summary

Production Control assists and leads the daily activities of the operational work teams ensuring standards are met with respect to safety, quality, material requirements and work schedules.    This is a hands-on role which means that they will work along-side the employees.  This is a position of leadership, as such the company expects employees at this level to lead by example, and not only abide by, but also to enforce its rules of conduct.   
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
Production Planning
    • Translate Sales Orders into manufacturable Work Orders that ensures accuracy in quantity and form based on specifications of the order.
    • Review information from Inside Sales/Customer Service, verify its accuracy and transfer the information to the work order once verified.
    • Coordinate production activities with the Shift Leader and other departments as required.
    • Based on job priorities, cycle time, and shop capacity, cue the job in the proper value stream for production in order to meet customer expectations,
    • Determine the availability of required parts and materials to fulfill each order, schedule order according to material availability and customer requirements.
    • Monitor job progress and adjust schedules as required.
    • Work with Shift Leader to ensure production levels match personnel and machine capability.
    • Prepare and Distribute production schedules on a daily basis.
    • Ensure the shop floor has complete fabrication packages.
    • Ensure scheduling changes are communicated to shop personnel.
Inventory Control
    • Master data for all items is accurate
    • Manage and oversee the plant wide planogram on raw material and finished good inventory
    • Oversee min/max levels for all items
    • Purchase raw materials
    • Implement a robust physical inventory and daily cycle count process
    • Create WO and PO’s to ensure all inventory levels and operational supplies are available
Operational Excellence
  • Shop Floor Metrics
    • Provide shop level metrics communicating the shop’s level of success meeting established cost, quality and schedule requirements.
    • Provide monthly performance metrics to management and production leadership.
    • Update visual management boards with all daily / weekly KPI’s
  • Standard Operating Procedures
    • Participate in creating standard operating procedures
