Staffmax is assisting our Winnipeg client with the hire of temporary Purchasing Clerks to assist with the day-to-day needs of the department. This contract is expected to last approximately 7 to 8 months, and is subject to extension as necessary.
Your Duties Will Include:
- Providing advice on the purchasing, renewals and contract management of IT services, software, licenses, and maintenance agreements.
- Guiding clients on the IT purchasing process, including the need to align their requirements with purchasing strategies, policies and standards.
- Maintaining accurate inventory of current IT contracts for maintenance, hardware, software, services and support agreements including expiration dates, contract clauses, terms and conditions, financial information.
- Tracking and reporting on the status and expiry of agreements and contracts.
- Obtaining approval to renew/retender the agreements prior to contract expiry dates.
- Identifiying the most appropriate purchasing approach based on internal tendering rules, current market factors, including leveraging existing agreements, in compliance with policy.
- Monitoring the purchasing process and liaising with central Procurement and Supply Chain Division as required.
- Working with stakeholders to draft and issue tenders to request quotes, resources and services.
- Drafting and developing contracts, statements of work and change requests.
- Responsible for maintenance, facilitation and execution of the IT contract management process, ensuring the contract information is current and accurate.
- Works with internal departments, legal services department, and the vendor.
- Obtaining appropriate contract approvals from the vendor and internal departments.
- Assisting the Purchasing Manager with additional projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in related field is considered an asset.
- Experience in supply chain management, procurement, contracting principles, or practical experience of procurement processes, methods, and practices, including contract management and administration or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with strong political and business acumen.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to make independent decisions, set priorities and meet tight timelines.
- Able to work independently and within a team environment as needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Experience working with SAP is considered an asset.
