Retail Sales Associate

Staffmax is currently hiring a Retail Sales Associate for a high-end gift and lifestyle store located near the Rice Village area. We are looking for a friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused individual who enjoys sales, creativity, and creating exceptional customer experiences.

Pay Rate: $23/hour + potential commission

Key Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and advise customers while providing exceptional customer service.
• Generate and maximize sales by understanding customer needs and recommending products.
• Answer customer questions regarding products, pricing, features, and services.
• Cross-sell and recommend complementary products.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and stay informed about new merchandise.
• Process sales, returns, exchanges, and customer orders using Lightspeed.
• Gift wrap and bag purchases and assist with phone orders and customer inquiries.
• Fulfill online orders and assist with mailings.
• Assist with merchandising, floor moves, displays, and maintaining a fresh store appearance.
• Receive, stock, tag, and replenish merchandise as needed.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Provide customer feedback and assist the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of high-end retail, boutique, or sales experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of the retail sales process and customer service.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong product knowledge and an interest in design, fashion, gifts, or lifestyle products.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Basic math and inventory management skills.
• Experience handling cash, credit/debit transactions, returns, exchanges, and register operations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Lightspeed or similar POS systems is an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexible and available to work Saturdays and occasional store events.

Schedule

• Store hours: Monday–Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
• Saturday availability is required.
• One weekday off will be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
• Expected arrival time: 9:45 AM.
• Expected departure: approximately 6:15 PM.
• Occasional participation in store events may be required.
