Saw Operator
The Saw Operator is a key member of the Winder Team and is responsible for setting up and operating the saw to ensure tubes are cut accurately and manufactured according to customer specifications and production requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Saw Setup & Operation

Set up, adjust, and operate the saw to produce clean, accurate cuts that meet product specifications.

Ensure the saw is properly set up for each product and make adjustments as required during production.

Monitor the equipment throughout the production process and report any issues that may affect safety, quality, or production.
Quality Control
-
Complete all required Quality Inspection Sheets and production documentation.

Review product specifications, tolerances, and applicable work instructions.

Inspect finished product for:

Measure and record required quality control information.
-
Immediately report quality concerns or product discrepancies to the Winder Operator and assist with corrective actions when required.
Production & Product Handling

Monitor production quantities and notify the Winder Operator when the required number of pieces has been produced.

Communicate any production overages or shortages.

Stack finished products in designated storage areas.
-
Use wooden spacers (2 × 4s) between rows when required to protect product quality and maintain safe stacking.

Assist the Winder Operator during machine setups and mandrel changes.
Equipment & Work Area

Complete routine saw maintenance as outlined on the Daily Maintenance Report.

Keep the saw and surrounding work area clean and organized.
-
Cut up and properly dispose of scrap tube and other waste materials.

Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns promptly.
Safety Responsibilities

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, injuries, or incidents.
-
Work cooperatively with the Winder Operator and production team to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive workplace.
