Staffmax Staffing is currently hiring 4 Semi Truck Drivers - Class 1 to join our client's growing operation in Thunder Bay, ON and area. Our client is a leader in the food distribution industry in North America. This position has the opportunity for further growth and exposure in other areas of the business. The role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of products to customers locations. This physically strenuous position involves mounting and dismounting semi truck vehicle numerous times each day.
Location: Thunder Bay, ON & Area
Pay Rate: $21-$24 per hour
Days: Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transportation and delivery of variety of food products in trailers
- Responsible for daily pre and post-trip inspections.
- Complete daily route as assigned.
- Perform driver check-ins at day’s end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion.
- Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner.
- Required to climb up the ladder on the truck to tarp loads.
- Required to lift septic tank lids and hoses when on septic tank routes
- Perform additional responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- AZ/DZ license required
- 1-2 years driving experience in a transportation sector
- Experience driving a manual transmission is considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer focus
- Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of industry as an asset
- Manual dexterity, ability to lift 50+ lbs. required

Salary: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Experience:
- Semi Truck Operator: 1-2 years (preferred)

- DZ Manual/ Automatic truck (preferred)
- DZ License (preferred)
- CVOR (preferred)
