Service Manager – Truck & Trailer Maintenance Operations
Our client's organization is looking for an experienced and motivated leader to guide the daily operations of our busy truck and trailer maintenance facility. In this role, you will take ownership of the service department’s performance by leading a talented group of technicians, coordinating workflow, and ensuring customers receive dependable, high-quality repair service. Working closely with the Regional Service Manager, you will help shape a productive, safe, and customer-focused environment while ensuring the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Lead and support a team of technicians
• Partner with leadership on recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development to build a strong and capable service team.
• Coordinate daily shop activities alongside the Shop Foreman, ensuring work is scheduled efficiently across both truck and trailer service operations, including daytime and overnight shifts.
• Monitor repair timelines, shop productivity, and workflow to ensure vehicles are serviced efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
• Serve as a key point of contact for customers by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring repairs are completed to their satisfaction.
• Maintain positive client relationships
• Track departmental performance, including productivity, revenue, costs, and shop efficiency, and provide updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, streamline processes, and support overall business growth.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices within the shop.
What We’re Looking For
- Must be experienced in Truck and Trailer/Coach mechanics.
- Licensed Mechanic Journeyperson or 310 T is a strong asset; an apprentice with many years of experience is encouraged to apply
- Proven experience leading a service team within the heavy-duty truck, transportation repair sector.
- Strong understanding of truck and trailer systems and repair processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, build strong working relationships, and maintain a positive shop culture.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy service environment.
- Education in business, operations, or a related field is beneficial, but equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Comfortable using computers, service management systems, and standard office software.
- Solid knowledge of workplace safety practices related to the truck and transport industry.
- Ability to work in an active shop environment and occasionally lift heavy parts or equipment when needed.
