Staffmax is looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator with experience running a small crew a skilled tradesperson responsible for welding and fabricating metal structures and components based on technical drawings and specifications. They work with various metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, and utilize welding techniques like MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to ensure high-quality results.
Monday - Friday Days
Wage : $33 - $37 per hour
Key Responsibilities:

Welding:
- Perform different types of welding (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) on various metals.
- Ensure precise and high-quality welds according to industry standards and project specifications.

Fabrication:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or sketches to fabricate metal components or structures.
- Use tools and machinery (e.g., saws, plasma cutters, shears, brake presses) to cut, bend, and shape metal materials into the required forms.

Inspection and Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and tape measures) to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and correct any defects found in welded parts or fabricated structures.

Equipment Operation:
- Operate welding machines, grinders, drills, and other fabrication equipment.
- Maintain and repair welding and fabrication tools to ensure smooth operation, safety, and efficiency.

Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Communicate effectively with the team to coordinate fabrication and welding processes and resolve any challenges.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and general fabrication skills.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision to ensure high-quality welds and accurate fabricated components.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Problem-Solving: Effective troubleshooting skills for addressing welding and fabrication issues.
Experience:
- Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in welding or fabrication, with experience varying based on the level of the role and any certifications held.
