  • $90,000 - 110,000/year plus 100% paid Benefits

Staffmax is assisting our client with the hire of a Site Shift Supervisor. This permanent role is located in rural Manitoba, near to Lac du Bonnet, and will require relocation to the area if necessary. The ideal candidate will bring supervisory experience in a milling or other industrial environment, and will leverage their experience and skills to successfully operate and maintain a safe and productive worksite that meets or exceeds the standards laid out in company policy.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Daily operational oversight of the worksite per scheduling and directives
  • Maintaining productivity and safety standards
  • Ensuring ISO procedures are being followed, and communicating changes to the appropriate department where necessary
  • Organizing and delegating tasks and activities in service to established responsibilities and goals
  • Liaising between the production department and on-site/ external service and material providers as necessary
  • Participating in the development and implementation of process improvements
  • Training new and existing employees in operational and safety standards
  • Contacting operational personnel and/or contractors in the event of staff shortages and unplanned maintenance incidents
  • Conducting routine inspections and audits of the worksite, as well as its systems, equipment, and services
  • Ensuring full compliance with environmental, safety, and emergency-preparedness standards
  • Acting in the Incident Command role during workplace incidents and emergencies
  • Coordinating after-hours first aid response and emergency response as required
  • Conducting daily safety meetings and inspections with worksite personnel
  • Recognizing, correcting, and reporting health, safety, and environmental issues
  • Investigating health, safety, environmental, and process incidents as well as overseeing implementation of corrective measures
  • Participating and leading in on-site personnel training
  • Delegating, overseeing, and following up on inspections and logs for site systems and equipment
  • Reviewing and actioning completed safety reports and maintaining current and accurate logs

Job Requirements:

  • You must be willing and able to relocate to or the surrounding communities of Lac Du Bonnet
  • Prior experience working in a team leadership/supervisory role in an industrial environment is essential
  • Prior experience in the chemical processing field is essential
  • Prior experience in milling and mining is a strong asset
  • Experience with 4th-Class Power Engineering is a strong asset
  • The ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate responsibilities and tasks in a fast-paced, safety-intensive environment is essential
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office is essential
  • Prior experience working within PLC-operated facilities is a strong asset
  • The ability to problem-solve and take an analytical approach to address issues is essential
  • Interpersonal skills and change agility are essential
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to lead by example are essential
