Position: Medical Office Assistant
Pay Rate: $18–$22/hr (depending on experience)
Duration: Temporary (March 3 – March 10)
Reports To: Clinical Office Manager

Position Overview:
The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) supports physicians and the healthcare team by welcoming, scheduling, and guiding patients, managing medical records, assisting in clinical care, overseeing physician billing, and maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment. The MOA serves as a professional contact point for patients and the public, representing the clinic’s values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient scheduling, follow-ups, and clinic communications

  • Prepare charts, forms, and clinical tools; assist with patient procedures

  • Maintain medical records, including confidential documents and coding

  • Track court orders and patient access to medical information

  • Manage clinical supplies, vaccinations, and equipment maintenance

  • Support physician billing and identify process efficiencies

  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with PHIA, infection control, and other regulations

  • Cross-cover other MOAs as needed and collaborate with the healthcare team

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Medical or Surgical Office Assisting (or equivalent)

  • Experience in healthcare administration or direct patient care

  • Knowledge of EMR systems, medical terminology, and confidentiality practices

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
