The Role
As the Traffic Control Manager, you will lead and support a team of Traffic Technicians while acting as the key link between field operations and office coordination. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with client expectations across Kelowna, Kamloops, and Prince George.
This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage people, resources, and schedules while maintaining high standards of safety and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deploy personnel and equipment to support traffic control projects, installations, and events
- Ensure all team members are properly trained and maintain required certifications
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Oversee maintenance and readiness of vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Review and submit daily documentation including timesheets and equipment logs
- Act as a liaison between field teams and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and execution
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while addressing concerns and identifying growth opportunities
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of team members
- Monitor department performance and contribute to operational decision-making
- Review work orders for accuracy and completeness prior to invoicing
- Implement and maintain LEAN/6S practices to improve efficiency and organization
- Track daily schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet operational demands
- Conduct inspections of traffic control setups to ensure compliance with plans and regulations
- Address and resolve any deficiencies in a timely manner
- Monitor inventory movement to ensure all equipment is accounted for
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Non-GDL) with a clean driver’s abstract
- Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification required
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in traffic control, transportation, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of provincial traffic regulations is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working in a LEAN or continuous improvement environment is an asset
- Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and fit testing requirements
Salary
- $75,000 - $90,000 + Company vehicle, gas card, and other benefits
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
- Travel within the region is required
