Staffmax is currently assisting our client in Calgary, AB, in hiring Traffic Technicians for a full-time seasonal role. As a Traffic Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring traffic control and safety around cities, construction sites, and major events. This includes designing safe lane closures, managing traffic detours, and setting up and removing traffic devices.
Location: Calgary, AB
Employment Status: Full-Time Seasonal (Expected to end on or before December 23, 2023)
Anticipated Term: 2023 Season
Wage: $24.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Conduct traffic control around cities, construction sites, and major events.
- Design safe lane closures and traffic detours to ensure public safety.
- Physically set up and remove traffic control devices, such as barricades, pylons, signage, and digital messaging boards.
- Coordinate with team members to execute traffic management plans effectively.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License: Non-GDL (non-graduated) Class 5 Driver's License is required to drive company vehicles.
- Clean Driving Record: A Clean 3-Year Regular Drivers Abstract is necessary.
- Vehicle Ownership: Candidates must own a vehicle for transportation to and from work.
- Pre-Employment Screening: All candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role. Note: There is a zero-tolerance policy for marijuana, medical, or recreational use in safety-sensitive positions.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift between 50 and 75 pounds.
- ACSA TCP Ticket: Possession of a valid ACSA TCP Ticket is an asset. ATS will cover the cost and provide training and tickets to successful candidates.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Candidates need to bring CSA Approved Safety Boots on the first day, and the company will provide the rest of the required PPE.
