Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is working with our clients to hire an experienced 4th Class Power Engineer for their Winnipeg plant.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Power Engineer will be a member of the Maintenance team responsible for safely and effectively repairing, installing, and maintaining production equipment, buildings, and grounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of the following equipment: Chiller Plants, Air Compressors and dryers, Steam and Hot Oil Boilers, RTU and MUA HVAC units, Dust Collection system and Filter Cleaning equipment.
- Provides basic preventative maintenance above listed equipment, reverse osmosis units, water softening equipment and any other assigned equipment.
- Ensure that work areas are always kept clean and tidy.
- Basic preventative Maintenance tasks throughout the plant such as (but not limited to) changing air quality filters.
- Provide basic maintenance support to production equipment outside of normal maintenance department hours.
- Assists in managing an established spare parts and tools inventory.
- Ensure that clean Filters are always available to the production department. Perform the initial cleaning after a filter change in a timely fashion and manage external cleaning process.
- Assist the maintenance technicians with maintenance tasks during maintenance days and as otherwise needed.
- Ensure that necessary documentation, such as daily time sheets are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Work with a computerized maintenance management program and ensure that the information contained within is relevant and up to date. Also ensure that the department’s documentation system, including asset maintenance reports, technical drawings, manuals, and catalogues, are kept up to date.
- Responsible for keeping current on all plant communications including, but not restricted to, Emails, Logbooks, Bulletin Boards and Plant Communications Binder.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of Grade 12 education.
- Manitoba 4th (or higher) Class Power Engineer Certificate.
- Special consideration and appropriate compensation will be given to candidates who possess a valid Journeyman Electrician’s license or Industrial Mechanic’s license
- A demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision and play an active role as a team member.
- Good organization and record keeping skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- Start at $34.94/hour, night shift premium of $1, weekend premium of $4.25 (Friday midnight to Sunday midnight).

Shifts:
Shifts: 12-hour shifts, two weeks on days 7am-7pm, then two weeks on nights 7pm-7am. Must be able to work every second weekend.
Cannot provide steam hours, this is a Class 3 Plant
